I, Tonya

When the new year gets into full swing, that is when I usually hear about all these films I had somehow missed in the previous year. Where was I when the trailer and posters dropped for Phantom Thread? Or Call Me By Your Name? I heard about these films from generally one of two sources; reviews by critics I respect, or a friend who had heard good things/wanted to see it. The latter is how I came about I, Tonya.

The Disaster Artist

If you do not know the cult classic, "The Room", widely considered to be one of the worst films of all time, do yourself a favor and go watch it. Not "Room", the movie that won Brie Larson her Oscar a few years ago, but "THE Room", the wonderfully bewildering brain child of Tommy Wiseau. Who is Tommy Wiseau? Thor: Ragnarok

I'm going to preface this review with an admission of guilt; I initially was not excited to see Thor: Ragnarok. Shocker, I know! I'm probably one of the biggest fans of the MCU, mostly because I read the comics growing up, but also because it's fun for me to see characters like these being taken with some form of seriousness and given a budget to tell these epic scale stories. And with Infinity War coming up next year, we're going to be seeing a lot of ramping up in the MCU for it.

Blade Runner 2049

In preparation for seeing 'Blade Runner 2049' tonight, I rewatched 'Blade Runner: The Final Cut'. I had recently purchased the 35th anniversary edition on 4K UHD + Bluray + Digital and if you couldn't tell by my Instagram page, I have a hefty movie collection. 'Blade Runner' was a movie I had seen before, but never quite understood why it had become a cult classic of film.
